Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services. By submitting a watch for service or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you have questions, please contact us before proceeding.
1. Definitions
- "springhau" — the watch repair and restoration workshop at 5 Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur
- "Client" — any person who engages springhau for watch repair, restoration, or assessment services
- "Service" — any work performed by springhau on a watch, including assessment, repair, full service, or restoration
- "Watch" — any timepiece submitted by the Client for service
- "Agreement" — these terms and conditions, together with any written service quote accepted by the Client
2. Acceptance of terms
By submitting a watch to springhau for service, using our website contact form, or accepting a service quote, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have legal capacity to enter into an agreement, and agree to be bound by these terms. If submitting a watch on behalf of another person, you confirm you have authority to do so.
3. Services offered
springhau provides three categories of watch service:
- Quick Assessment and Care (MYR 1,500) — 1 to 3 working days
- Deep Movement Care (MYR 4,100) — 8 to 14 working days
- Archival Restoration (from MYR 7,600) — 4 to 12 weeks depending on scope agreed
Service availability is subject to capacity. Timeframes are estimates and may vary depending on parts availability and the complexity of work discovered during service. springhau operates from Malaysia and does not guarantee geographic service availability outside the Klang Valley.
4. Service intake and quotes
Upon receipt of a watch, springhau will:
- Photograph and log the watch's condition at intake
- Provide a written service quote before proceeding with any billable work
- Obtain verbal or written Client agreement before proceeding
If additional work is discovered during service, springhau will inform the Client and obtain agreement before proceeding. No additional charges will be applied without Client consent. The Client may decline additional work, in which case the watch will be returned in its current state at the agreed quote price for work already authorised.
5. Payment
- All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) inclusive of applicable taxes
- Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch
- Accepted payment methods: cash, bank transfer, major credit and debit cards
- For Archival Restoration services, a deposit of up to 30% may be required prior to commencement
- Watches will not be returned until payment is received in full
6. Refunds and cancellations
If the Client declines service after assessment, no charge applies beyond the assessment fee where applicable. Once a service has been authorised and commenced, refunds are not available for work already performed. If springhau is unable to complete a service due to unforeseen circumstances (such as parts unavailability), the Client will be informed and any advance payment refunded in full.
Parts that have been sourced specifically for a Client's watch and cannot be returned to suppliers may be charged to the Client in the event of cancellation after parts procurement has begun.
7. Warranty
springhau offers a 12-month service warranty on Deep Movement Care and Archival Restoration services. This warranty covers defects arising directly from the service performed. It does not cover:
- Damage caused by impact, water ingress beyond tested resistance, or misuse after service
- Normal wear of parts over time
- Issues with components not addressed during the service
- Watches opened or worked on by third parties after springhau service
Quick Assessment and Care does not carry a service warranty beyond the care taken at intake. The 12-month warranty period commences on the date of collection.
8. Client responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the watch's history, known issues, and prior service
- Confirm that you are the legal owner of the watch, or have authority to submit it for service
- Collect the watch within 30 days of being notified that service is complete
- Maintain reasonable communication during multi-week services
Watches not collected within 60 days of completion notice may be subject to a storage charge of MYR 10 per working day after the 30-day grace period.
9. Intellectual property
All content on the springhau website — including text, photography, and design — is the property of springhau and may not be reproduced without prior written permission. Service documentation provided to Clients is for their personal use in relation to their watch only.
10. Disclaimers
springhau will exercise professional skill and care in all services. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes in all cases. In particular:
- Very old or damaged movements may not be restorable to full function
- Parts for discontinued movements may not be available, which may limit the scope of service
- Cosmetic outcomes (particularly dial or case finishing) may vary based on the condition of the watch at intake
springhau does not provide valuations. Any indication of watch value made in the course of service is informal and should not be relied upon for financial or insurance purposes.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, springhau's liability to any Client is limited to the amount paid for the service in question. springhau is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence or fraud.
12. Dispute resolution
If you have a concern about a service, we ask that you contact us directly first so that we can address it. Most issues can be resolved through direct communication. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur.
13. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
